19th Century garden lamps, used by the 6th Duke to light the gardens both at Chatsworth and at Chiswick. In the Handbook when discussing the Orangery, p. 8, he noted ‘of a night it (the Medici vase) hold powerful lamps, that send up such a magical light on the branches of Altingia, that people cry out Fairy land.’, estimate: £400-600.
