Why should I create a photo album?

Creating an online photo album is one of the easiest ways of sharing your historic property, Victorian house or period home with friends and others. Simply upload your photos. You can also announce your album to friends, and they can access it immediately.

Aside from sending direct links to your friends and family, you can even create mini albums for blogs and forums.

What type of photo album?

This web site is for photos of Victorian houses, old homes, and historic property that was constructed prior to 1940 only.

How do I get started?

It’s easy! First, register for free by giving your user name, password, and email address. Within seconds, you’ll be given an account.

How do I start a photo album?

On the bottom of the page, you will find a button that says "Create a New Album" beside a blank field. Type in the Name of your Album, and then click.

The next step is to find and upload your photos. Click "Browse" to search through your computer. (To make it easier for you to locate the photos, we advise that you pre-group the photos you like into a single folder.) Select the photos by clicking on the file name. 

If you want to label your photo album, click on the album name. You can also write a description of up to 120 words. Share the history of your house with others.

How many photos can I put in one album?

With this Victorian Homes Photo Gallery you can put up to 10 photos in each album and you can make up to four albums. Some suggestions: make an album for "before" pictures, then an album for "after" pictures if you have renovated; make an album of just close-ups of architectural details; or make an album for several different houses. We are the only site that gives you this kind of bandwidth and storage capacity. 

How do I access my albums?

On the upper right hand corner of the page you will find a link, "My Albums". Click it, and you will be led to a list of all of the albums you have made.   Click on the one you want to work on, or start a completely new one. 

How do I share the albums with my friends?

Go to "My Albums" and find the album you are ready to share. On the right side you will see a small icon with two people. Click on it. A window will pop up, asking for the email addresses of your friends and family. Fill it in, press send, and they will immediately receive an invitation.

Will strangers be able to view my album?

Yes. As part of the VICTORIANA.COM web site, we are building a community with galleries for Victorian enthusiasts and other collectors to share their passion for historic architecture, decorating, antiques and more. 

Will people be able to change my album?

No. Because of your user name and password, only you can add and delete text or photos.  That is why it's important to keep that information safe.

How do I delete an album?

Go to "My Albums" and find the album you wish to delete. On the right side you will find a red button marked with an "x". Click on it. You will be asked to confirm your decision. Be careful, because you cannot undo this command.

How do I change my password or email?
